One of the more drought adapted plants of the Liatris genus in our state. You will typically only find this smaller statured plant in the harshest of upland soils, as that’s how it gets its competitive advantage. It will perform just fine in normal garden soil, but may need help from getting outcompeted over time.
Height: 1-2.5 ft
Sun: full
Soil moisture: medium-dry to dry
Ecology: As with all of the Liatris, this is a great late season butterfly plant.
Murray county ecotype
